On the evening of November 15th, the Sea Girt Board of Education named the school's gym to honor Mr. Frank A. Mazzitelle. Mr. Mazzitelle, Coach Mazz, passed away last March. In 1970, Coach Mazz became the first Physical Education teacher at Sea Girt Elementary School, coaching baseball, basketball and soccer. In 2003, after 33 years, 1026 students, 729 victories and 40 championships, he retired. The dedication ceremony was well attended by Coach Mazz's family, colleagues, community members and alumni (all the way back to the Class of 1973). The gym was officially named The Frank A. Mazzitelle Gymnasium and has already been nicknamed the "Mazznasium". Thank you to everyone who helped to make this even a success!
